worksheet explores the optical phenomena of iridescence and structural coloration by screen printing with mica powders on black paper to create color-shifting chameleon prints that vary based on the angle of the light source in relation to the viewer’s eye. They express contradictions of nature, technology, and culture, using mechanics of light, color, and perception to connect the mundane and metaphysical and develop a hypersurreal, queer, and technical aesthetic that draws attention to the hybrid realms we inhabit today.
